Friends and Neighbours: Christmas Reunions

Book 2 of the series.

Since recovering from her depression Jenny is leading a full and happy life with her family, friends and neighbours in Stoke.

It’s the week before Christmas. After another year of hard work in the community, Jenny and Lonny are in need of some R & R. With climate change biting, they’ve had food to grow, a preloved shop to run and a mental health gardening group to supervise. But when a snowstorm hits, and a visitor moves uninvited into the new garage conversion, the chances of a quiet Christmas look slim.

Jenny pulls out all the stops to unite their guest with her mother but all is not as it seems. Long held secrets unravel and risk ruining the holiday. Jenny knows all about family secrets. Can she help this young woman be reunited with her family for Christmas?

‘Christmas Reunions’ is the second book in the much loved ‘Friends and Neighbours’ series which follows Jenny and Lonny and their local community and combines serious issues with humour and charm.

“Okay, so we are back in Stoke with Jenny and Lonny for Book 2 in the Friends & Neighbours series. I really loved getting back to these characters and seeing where they got to two years in the future. I did not like Jenny in book one, period. However in this one, her growth really shines through. She is working on creating relationships and a community. We introduced some new characters and I was laughing out loud. I read through this one so quickly. It is funny and sweet and twists in a love story all while dealing with all sorts of life issues. There is climate change awareness and a crazy snow storm. What’s not to love?? Although this is the second book, It could be read independently.”

‘Back again with Jenny and Lonny for the second instalment, and I loved it. This is the third book I have read by the author and it’s another great read. It was such an eye opener and was not like your normal Christmas read. It was cleverly written to highlight important topics such as mental health and the challenges people can face. It balances despair with humour, reminds us we lose people and also find people and overall just how short life really is. Once again it was fantastically written with real warmth and depth to all the characters and not just Jenny and Lonny. I would love to see a third book in the series but this time focus more on the mental health of Lonny and his group more.’
